Stopped by for a cool beverage after being stuck in traffic for awhile. Place was packed. Enjoyed the atmosphere and being able to people watch
As a local beach business owner and parents, my husband & I only get out once or twice a month. We often have made Mermaid a group meeting place for friends & neighbors. But after almost ten years now we are no longer welcome. Tired and lazy bartenders come on duty, shut down jukebox, turn tv's to their channels of choosing, ignore customers and kick you out when you complain. Call and complain to owner and then '86'd for life' by other management.
The bartender coming on shift was right when he said to new management 'Welcome to hell!!' If the workers feel that way, imagine how they treat customers. Oh that's right! They would rather the drug pushers and unemployed at their bar so they can continue to treat it like their living room and no one to question their work ethics. Bring the REAL and seasoned bartenders back!
The lady that commented about the bartender KEEPING THE CHANGE from her ten dollar hill!!! Saying the bartender shouldn't have done that!!! People DO NOT COME OUT IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND TIPPING ETIQUETTE! SO DISSAPOINTING TO READ SOMEONES WORDS BEING SO IGNORANT. WHEN YOU DRINK AT A BAR THAT PACKED YOUR PAYING FOR YOUR SEAT AND YOUR TAB. IF YOU SIT THERE FOR 4 HOURS AND SPEND JUST 10 DOLLARS, DON'T MAKE THE BARTENDER SUFFER BC YOU DIDN'T MOVE ALONG TO LET MORE MONEY COME THROUGH! SHE STILL SERVED YOU FOR THOSE FOUR HOURS. I RATE ANYONE WHO NEGATIVELY RATES THIS SACRED AMAZING BAR ONE STAR. MERMAIDS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!
Just stopped at the "Infamous" Mermaid. Walked in sat at a table, walked to the bar, waited at the bar for 10 minutes while the bartender intentionally ignored me. Went back to the table and took my friends over to the Cottage, where we were immediately greeted with smiles great music and endless drinks.
